[[Bus Music]] - 2018 // [[violin]], [[clarinet]], [[piano]], [[percussion]] ![[Pasted image 20251202133742.png]] **Bus Music** was written for the 2018 [Arraymusic](https://www.arraymusic.ca/) Young Composer's Workshop. It's also been performed by [Ensemble Paramaribo](https://ensembleparamirabo.com/en) as part of the Waterloo Region Contemporary Music Sessions (also in 2018), and the [Catchfire Collective](https://www.catchfirecollective.com/) *Over the past few years I’ve spent much time on intercity buses. As part of my weekly habit I eventually learned to relish in it. There’s a tranquility to being stuck in 401 traffic at night with a bunch of strangers trying to ignore each other; it’s one of the few times when no one expects you to do more than just sit and wait. Bus Music’s incessant repeating permutations remind me of the contrast between this tranquility and the clunky reality of a big metal rectangle propelling itself at high speed through the Ontario.* The score is available for purchase at the [Canadian Music Centre](https://collections.cmccanada.org/final/Portal/Composer-Showcase.aspx?component=AAIL&record=4d7d2602-0cbb-43be-983d-78ae2166a676).
